The Nigerian Baptist Convention has laid the body of the deacesed Men leader to rest. The Men Missionary Union national president (MMU leader), Deacon Michael Oyegbile died on Friday 24th of April, 2020. The remains of Deacon Michael Kehinde Oyegbile has been let go at his living arrangement at Eyenkorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. Elder Oyegbile was until his downfall the seventh National President of the Baptist men of Nigeria. The burial service was held at the Kwara Baptist Conference campsite at Ganmo, Ilorin with various dignitaries from varying backgrounds in participation.
In his message at the memorial service, the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Dr Samson Ayokunle who took his content from 2 Timothy 4:6-8 said that the Christian race must be run with steadiness while taking note of that the Late Deacon Oyegbile kept the confidence and was a column in the congregation. Dr Ayokunle repeated the way that the Christian race was time bound and there was the need to stay the course of confidence now. Notwithstanding, while Deacon Oyegbile’s exit was excruciating to us, it is a call we should all answer. Thus, Dr Ayokunle approached everybody not to be occupied by fleeting and useless things by putting all in all love of God to complete the race well.
In a curt articulation marked by the body’s National Secretary, Deacon Philip Slaboh, the body sympathized with his significant other and whole family, Baptist men and Boys, and the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. S. O. Ayokunle and the whole Baptist family in Nigeria supplicating that God would comfort all.
The statement read:
“It is with heavy hearts but a deep sense of duty that we bring to the notice of NEC the sad news of the sudden demise of our dear leader, Dn. Micheal K. Oyegbile, President, MMU of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, which occurred today, Friday April 24, 2020.
“We convey our heartfelt condolences to his wife and entire family, Baptist men and Boys, and the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. S. O. Ayokunle and the entire Baptist family in Nigeria and pray that the God of all comfort will grant us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. We request all NEC members to be in prayers as we seek the Lord’s guidance to get through this trying moment in our ministry.
